Catherine HUTTER

Catherine HUTTER

  • Originally a landscape painter, his painting was nourished by space and light, the traces of man on the planet, his garden projects, gazes towards a dreamed-of Eden.
  • The subjects emerge mostly near the ocean or fresh water, establishing a connection with the vital and creative energies attached to it.
  • The spaces for dialogue between the water/earth/sky elements gradually become the playing field of his creation.
  • First attracted by the world of ports and boats, his gaze was more specifically focused on the water itself thereafter. A fascination for magical reflections and their power, both soothing and conducive to meditation and questioning, animates the paintings.
  • These water mirrors while offering a sumptuous spectacle, offer everyone a space of imaginative freedom. We see reflections there, but also what the observer brings to it... Mirrors of the soul.
